Safety - Know Before You Go

The Park offers a variety of water-based activities for all ages and all swim levels.  Height restrictions are posted for all attractions and enforced.   Children under age 12 should be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times, and children age 12 or over should be supervised by an adult familiar with the child’s swim level so as to make appropriate decisions as to the attractions suitable for that child.

Only you know your own, your child's, or anyone you are supervising level of swimming skills.  We strongly recommend all Guests under 48" or who are weak or non-swimmers wear Coast Guard approved lifejackets where appropriate. In the wave pool, all guests under 48" are REQUIRED to wear a lifejacket and be accompanied by an adult.  We insist that parents keep their children within arms reach for their close supervision on all water activities. Life Jackets are available FREE OF CHARGE at Guest Information located inside the park.  When in doubt, wear a life jacket!

Diving is not permitted in any pool or attraction at the park.

Proper swimwear must be worn on all rides and attractions.
No street clothes and no bathing attire with buckles, belts, rivets, metal or cut-off jeans permitted. For guest safety, no masks, snorkels or swim fins please.
See dress code below.

For the safety of all of our guests, anyone who has experienced a stomach and or intestinal illness within the past two weeks may not participate in any water attractions.

VIRGINIA GRAEME BAKER POOL AND SPA SAFETY ACT - On December 19th 2008 the Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act went into effect. This new law requires VGB Compliant Pool Drain Grates. We are VGB Compliant but please note in some applications these grates have a raised profile off the floor as mandated by the Law.
Warning: Raised Grate - All of our raised grates have a red circle highlighting their location. They are designed to be stepped on but in shallow water situations they may pose a tripping hazard.

Top Tips

What if I forgot my bathing suit, sunglasses or sunscreen?
All of these items and many more may be purchased at the Mountain Creek General Store or Tides. Both retail stores accept  cash, travelers checks or credit cards.

What about my valuables?
The best thing is to leave them at home. Please don't bring them into the waterpark or leave them exposed in your car. Keyless entry car systems can become inoperable if they get wet. Lock money and keys in a locker instead of keeping them in pockets where they may fall out in the rides. Mountain Creek Waterpark cannot be responsible for items that are lost or stolen from vehicles or from inside the waterpark.

Does Mountain Creek Waterpark offer lockers?
Yes. We recommend that you secure your valuables in a locker. Mountain Creek Waterpark is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Lockers are available next to Luigi's for an all-day rental fee plus a refundable deposit.

Do I need footwear?
Mountain Creek Waterpark walkways, like any pavement, absorb the sun’s heat. We strongly recommend that you wear some type of secure footwear. If you did not bring proper footwear, you can purchase aqua-socks at the Mountain Creek General Store or Tides.

Do you have life jackets and where do I get them?
Life Jackets are available FREE OF CHARGE at Guest Information located inside the park.

What if my party gets separated?
Establish a time and place to meet. If your kids are old enough to be on their own, make sure they check in periodically for sunscreen and drink breaks. If you do get unintentionally separated, alert any staff member or go to Guest Information.

Can I bring a picnic?
Mountain Creek Waterpark offers a wide variety of delicious foods at Hawk’s Nest, Luigi's and Grouchy’s Smoke House, as well as vending carts around the waterpark. Mountain Creek Waterpark does not allow outside food or beverages into the waterpark other than individual, sealed bottles of water. For guests wishing to bring their own meals, we do provide an area outside the waterpark archway where guests may eat food that they bring. We do ask that guests utilize this area only while they are eating so that different groups may have use of the area. No cooking of any kind or any type of heating element such as sternos are permitted on our property.

Am I allowed to smoke in the waterpark?
Many of our guests choose not to wear footwear around the waterpark. For their safety and out of respect for those who prefer not to be exposed to smoke, we do not allow smoking anywhere within the waterpark. We do provide an area outside the waterpark where smoking is permitted.

Do I need to bring cash or do you accept debit & credit cards?
We do not accept debit cards at any of our points of purchase, unless your debit card has a Visa or MasterCard logo. There are ATMs located near admissions and also in the park in the Tides outlet. Be sure to carry your ID with you if you plan to use your Credit Card. For your protection & due to the high number of credit card & identity issues today, Mountain Creek Waterpark requires that a valid ID be presented at the time of any credit card transaction.
